OUR WRITE-UP
Knuckleball has a resemblance of the 1990’s “Home Alone” film (where an 8-year-old Kevin -Macaulay Culkin- is left behind in his family home and defends it from two burglars in very creative ways). However, Knuckleball adds a twist of suspense and horror to their story; making it extra-saucy for thriller fans out there. We were invited by the film’s director, Michael Peterson, to be part of the VFX team. A total of 260 shots were shared with us to enhance, clean and add effects to. These visual effects were incredibly challenging, since 70% of the film was intended to portray snow; from simple snow particles to big snow storms. We leaned on rotoscoping in order to create a fictional reality, working hard and deep. At the end, we made it possible thanks to our committed and talented team – brave warriors in this VFX battle.

Knuckleball guarda similitud con la película de los 90 “Home Alone” (en la que el pequeño Kevin —Macaulay Culkin— se queda solo en casa y se defiende de dos ladrones de manera muy creativa). Sin embargo, Knuckleball le añade un giro de suspenso y terror, haciéndola irresistible para los fans del género. Fuimos invitados por el director, Michael Peterson, a integrar el equipo de VFX. Un total de 260 tomas fueron compartidas con nosotros para mejorar, limpiar y añadir efectos. Estos efectos visuales fueron enormemente desafiantes, ya que el 70% de la película retrata nieve: desde simples partículas hasta grandes tormentas. Nos apoyamos en la rotoscopia para crear una realidad ficticia, trabajando con profundidad y determinación. Al final lo logramos gracias a nuestro comprometido y talentoso equipo – valientes guerreros en esta batalla de VFX.
